In a unit, your isolation valve is often inside a cupboard or in a common-area riser cupboard, and if you can’t find it, don’t waste time hunting, ring us and we’ll talk you through it while we’re moving. Through the central and southern beaches, and out to the hinterland, we’ll tell you a realistic window based on where the nearest van actually is, and if traffic on the M1 is going to blow it out, we’ll say so. Holiday periods add time everywhere on the Coast; we’d rather set the expectation properly than promise thirty minutes and turn up in ninety.

Yes, and we’re used to the extra layer. In older Gold Coast towers the hard part usually isn’t the plumbing, it’s working out where your lot ends and common property begins, because a leak inside a shared riser or stack is the body corporate’s problem, not yours. We’ll identify that before any work starts and put it in writing, which is what building managers actually need to approve a job. We’ll also work around access windows, lift bookings and guests in the unit.
Salt. Airborne salt accelerates corrosion on copper, brass fittings, tap spindles and the sacrificial anode inside your hot water cylinder, and it does it years earlier than the same unit would fail inland. In practice that means a system rated for a decade can be showing its age at six or seven in Palm Beach or Mermaid, and the anode is worth checking long before the tank leaks.
