Decisions about where wet areas sit, how the waste lines run and where the hot water system lives are far cheaper to get right on paper than to correct once a slab is poured. We would rather look at a plan for half an hour than fix a fall problem afterwards. It also lets us tell you what the existing sewer and water connections can carry before anyone commits to a layout.
Sometimes, and it is a fair question rather than an upsell. If you are patching pinhole leaks in the same run repeatedly, the pipework is telling you something, and a partial or full re-pipe can be cheaper over five years than the sequence of repairs plus the water damage. But it depends on what we find, so we will show you the condition of the actual pipe and give you both numbers rather than pushing you toward the bigger job.
