Gilberton is old river country, sitting on the flats where the Logan and Albert systems run out toward the bay, and that ground governs nearly everything about the plumbing. The water table is high, blocks are large, and a good share of properties rely on tanks and on-site wastewater rather than reticulated services. Leaks disperse into soft, wet ground instead of pooling, so the damp patch is rarely anywhere near the actual break.
Flood exposure is genuine here rather than theoretical, and the aftermath is a real part of our work: silted gullies, waterlogged pump housings, tanks that have taken floodwater and treatment systems needing pumping out and re-commissioning. It is also cane and farm country, so troughs, stock water and shed plumbing sit alongside the houses. We work the whole pocket including Jacobs Well, Alberton, Norwell, Woongoolba and Stapylton.

You approve the price before we pick up a tool. No hourly meter running, no bill shock.
A real person answers after hours, not a call centre that books you in for next week.

My experience with Do Some Plumbing was extremely satisfying. Adam took the trouble to research my unusual plumbing requirements, and he and Ethan had the job completed in a very short time. It is worth noting that I had contacted very many plumbers over a period of 5 months, and none was interested in undertaking the work. I cannot speak highly enough of their customer service standards.

I have a really simple expectation when I hire any tradesman. Show up when you say. Explain the method and the risks of the task. Communicate as needed. Complete the task. Leave my property in the same condition or better than you found it.
Every time the guys showed up they did exactly that, and made no fuss at all about doing the work. They didn’t inflate the difficulty to justify the cost, and were completely honest the whole time.
I would gladly recommend them to anyone.

Tell us what's going on, we answer 24/7 for emergencies.
We quote before we start, you approve the cost, no surprises later.
Licensed local plumbers fix it fast and leave your place clean.

There is no standard figure on rural river flats and it would be dishonest to quote one down the phone. A tap, a pump rebuild, a blocked drain and a leak somewhere along a buried run are four different jobs. Each gets a fixed price in writing before we start, with travel already inside it, so no country surcharge appears on the invoice later.
Quotes are free and carry no obligation. Leak detection on ground like this is skilled work rather than a walk around, so we price the investigation separately from the repair. That is not charging twice, it is how you avoid paying to replace a line that turned out to be sound.
Do Some Plumbing services homes and businesses across the Logan, Gold Coast, Brisbane & Ipswich. If you’re nearby, there’s a good chance we can get to you quickly.
If you’re not sure whether you’re within the service area, the easiest thing to do is give us a quick call. We’ll let you know straight away and point you in the right direction if you’re just outside our usual coverage.
Yes. Plumbing problems don’t always happen at convenient times. Burst pipes, overflowing toilets, and major leaks need attention quickly.
If something urgent happens, call and we’ll do our best to get a plumber out as soon as possible to stop the damage and get things under control.
It depends on where you’re located and what the schedule looks like that day.
Because we’re based in Logan, we’re already working in the surrounding suburbs most days. That means many jobs can be booked the same day, especially if you’re nearby.
For urgent problems like burst pipes, major leaks, or overflowing toilets, our priority is getting someone out quickly to stop the damage.
The best thing to do is give us a call, explain what’s happening, and we’ll let you know how soon we can get a plumber out to you.
Yes, a plumber answers 24/7. Shut the water off first if you can, at the meter on town supply or the pump isolation valve if you are on tank. If livestock water is affected, say so on the phone because it changes how we prioritise. Burst line repairs are our most common after-hours job out here.
Usually inside the hour. As with most river-flat acreage the delays are gates, long driveways and paddock access after rain rather than the drive itself. Flag them when you call and we will plan around them.
Jacobs Well, Alberton, Norwell, Woongoolba, Steiglitz, Stapylton, Yatala and up toward Kingsholme. Full list on our service areas page.
No. Emergency cover is 24/7 including weekends and public holidays, and both the after-hours component and the rural travel sit inside the fixed price you approve before we start. Nothing gets added at the end.
Yes, free and no obligation. Where the fault has to be found before it can be honestly priced, we quote the investigation, report exactly what we found, then quote the repair. You approve each step and nothing gets replaced on an assumption.
Card, EFTPOS and bank transfer, with staged payments on larger jobs such as tank installations, pump replacements or a wastewater upgrade. Ask before we start and it goes in the quote.
Do not treat it as drinkable until it has been cleaned and tested. Floodwater carries contamination that settling will not fix, and sediment left in the bottom of the tank keeps the problem alive long after the water looks clear. The sequence is drain, clean, refill and test, and any submerged pump or electrical component should be checked before it is switched back on rather than just dried off. Queensland Health’s drinking water guidance is the right reference if a tank is your only supply.
Practically: clear gullies and stormwater pits before the rain rather than during it, make sure pump housings and electrical components sit above the level water has previously reached, check that tank overflows discharge somewhere sensible, and know where every isolation valve is before you need it in the dark. An hour of preparation saves days of recovery.
